THE ISTHMUS OF CORINTH<\/h2>\n

The Isthmus of Corinth is a narrow strip of land that connects Central Greece with the Peloponnese, while the canal that has been carved through it connects the Saronic Gulf with the Gulf of Corinth. It spans about six kilometres and its narrowest point is where the Corinth Canal has been constructed (1880-1893). It was a strategic location and for that reason, even since the ancient times (end of 5th century B.C.), a wall had been constructed, that had been maintained even up to the Byzantine era. Enjoy the cruise through the Corinth Canal by day or even by night.<\/h4>\n
